Relationships between data links and TE links

19

For ASON services, data links are member links displayed on the NMS. Member links are considered as small bandwidth units of a TE link. A TE link can consist of multiple member links. In the ASON software of the current version, a TE link contains only one member link.
TE links are flooded to the entire network based on the OSPF protocol. Each ASON NE stores network-wide TE link information. Member links are not flooded to the entire network. Each ASON NE manages and stores only its own member links.

Whether virtual TE links must be configured
Virtual TE links need to be created only in specific scenarios. 1. When optical NEs and electrical NEs are separate from each other, a virtual TE link needs to be created between an optical NE and an electrical NE. When an ultra-long span uses an ESC instead of an OSC (for optical-layer ASON only), a virtual TE link needs to be created between NEs at the two ends of the span. When ASON links pass through a traditional NE, virtual TE links need to be created between the traditional NE and ASON NEs. 2. When optical NEs and electrical NEs are separate from each other on an optical-layer ASON network, virtual TE links must be manually configured for OSN 6800/8800 of a version earlier than V100R007C02. Version V100R007C02 and later version support automatic discovery of virtual TE links (this function can be disabled if desired).

Are the links between active-active arrays used to transfer both their heartbeat data and arbitration data?
Heartbeat links and arbitration links between active-active arrays are physically isolated and cannot share the links.

Principles for automatic discovery of electrical-layer TE links for ASON services
Electrical-layer TE links for ASON services are verified through electrical-layer overhead bytes. For the principles of automatic TE link discovery, see the ASON User Guide.

Do links between active-active arrays support port bonding?
No, the links between active-active arrays do not support port bonding.
