Mirroring functions supported by the device

NOTE:

Some personal communication information may be collected or stored to detect transmission faults and errors. Huawei cannot collect or store user communication information without permission. It is recommended that relevant functions used to collect or store user communication information be enabled under applicable laws and regulations. During user communication information collection and storage, measures must be taken to protect user communication information.

The device supports the following two types of mirroring functions:

  • Port mirroring

A packet passing through a mirrored interface is copied and then sent to a specified monitoring device for analysis and monitoring. All packets passing through the mirrored interface are copied.

  • Flow mirroring

A packet passing through a mirrored interface and matching a traffic classification rule is copied and then sent to a specified monitoring device for analysis and monitoring. A traffic policy matching flow mirroring is applied to the mirroring interface, and packets matching traffic classification rules on the mirrored interface are copied.

NOTE:

The device does not provide packet parsing, and packet capture software is required to parse packets.

Do WLAN devices support the WDS function
Fat APs do not support the WDS function. Currently, the WDS function is supported only in the AC+Fit AP architecture. However, in this architecture, the AP6310SN-GN, AP2010DN, AP2030DN, AP7030DE, AP9330DN, AD9430DN-24 (including connected RUs), and AD9430DN-12 (including connected RUs) do not support the WDS function. In WDS networking, Huawei APs cannot be interconnected to non-Huawei devices. For WDS configuration in the AC+Fit AP architecture, see (the R5 version is used as an example): V200R005: WDS Configuration. V200R006: WDS Configuration.

Do WLAN devices support the Mesh function
Fat APs do not support the Mesh function. From V200R005C10, the AP9130DN (Fat AP) can function as a vehicle-mounted AP in vehicle-ground communication scenarios. Because vehicle-mounted APs communicate with trackside APs through Mesh links, the Mesh function can be configured for Fat APs since V200R005C10. However, Fat APs can be used only as vehicle-mounted APs in vehicle-ground communication scenarios, but cannot be used for bridging. Currently, the Mesh function is supported only in the AC+Fit AP architecture. However, in this architecture, the AP6310SN-GN, AP2010DN, AP2030DN, AP7030DE, AP9330DN, AD9430DN-24 (including connected RUs), and AD9430DN-12 (including connected RUs) do not support the Mesh function. For more information about Mesh configurations, see: V200R005: Mesh Configuration. V200R006: Mesh Configuration.

Do CE8800&CE7800&CE6800&CE5800 switches support inter-device mirroring
CE8800&7800&6800&5800 series switches support inter-device mirroring when the switches are configured in a stack. If the mirrored ports are physical member ports in a stack, inter-device mirroring is not supported. On the CE6870EI, packets mirrored from one device to the other may be changed or discarded. Therefore, you are not advised to configure the observing and mirrored ports on different devices.
