M40V is mainly used to commission the incident optical power and flatness during wavelength adding to improve the commissioning precision and avoid mechanical attenuation for easy maintenance.
D40V is mainly used to commission the input optical power of OTU boards during wavelength dropping at the receive end.
After deployment commissioning, D40V is rarely used. Therefore, no D40V board is developed except TN11D40V. Platform subracks are developed later than TN11D40V and therefore do not support D40V.
