TPS protection types supported by OSN products
OSN 7500: For E1/T1 services, the OSN 7500 provides a maximum of one group of 1:4 protection, where slot 1 protects slots 2, 3, 17, and 18. For E3/D3/E4/STM-1e services, the OSN 7500 provides a maximum of one group of 1:3 protection, where slot 18 protects slots 2, 3, and 17. OSN 3500: For E1/T1 services, the OSN 3500 provides a maximum of one group of 1:8 protection, where slot 1 protects slots 2-5 and slots 13-16. For E3/D3/E4/STM-1e services, the OSN 3500 provides a maximum of two groups of 1:3 protection, where slot 2 protects slots 3, 4, 5, and slot 16 protects slots 13, 14, and 15. For E1/T1/E3/DS3/E4STM-1e hybrid services, a single subrack can provide three groups of concurrent hybrid protection for tributary services. In this scenario, slot 1 protects slots 4 and 5 for E1/T1 services, slot 2 protects slot 3 for E3/DS3 services, and slot 16 protects slots 13, 14, and 15 for E4/STM-1e services. OSN 2500: For E1/T1 services, the OSN 2500 supports a maximum of one group of 1:4 protection if slots are not divided, where slot 5 protects slots 6, 7, 12, and 13. When slots 5, 6, and 7 are divided, the OSN 2500 supports a maximum of two groups of 1:2 protection, where slot 5 protects slots 6 and 7 and slot 19 protects slots 20 and 21. For E3/D3/E4/STM-1e services, the OSN 2500 supports a maximum of two groups of 1:1 protection, where slot 6 protects slot 7 and slot 13 protects slot 12. OSN 2500 CRG: The OSN 2500 CRG does not support TPS protection. OSN 1500 I: For E1/T1 services, the OSN 1500 I supports a maximum of one group of 1:2 protection if slots are not divided, where slot 11 protects slots 12 and 13. When slots 11, 12, and 13 are divided, the OSN 1500 I supports a maximum of one group of 1:2 protection, where slot 1 protects slots 2 and 3, slot 6 protects slots 7 and 8, and slot 11 protects slots 12 and 13. For E3/D3/E4/STM-1e services, the OSN 1500 I supports a maximum of two groups of 1:1 protection, where slot 12 protects slot 13. OSN 1500 II: For E1/T1 services, the OSN 1500 II supports a maximum of one group of 1:1 protection if slots are divided, where slot 2 protects slot 12.
