How to specify files for the next startup of CE series switches

79

Files for next startup include system software, configuration files, and patch files. Commands for specifying files for next startup vary depending on the file type:

?To specify basicsoft.cc as the system software for next startup, run:
startup system-software basicsoft.cc

?To specify vrpcfg.cfg as the configuration file for next startup, run:
startup saved-configuration vrpcfg.cfg

NOTE:

After specifying the configuration file for next startup, do not save the current configuration when using the reboot command to restart the device.
When the following message is displayed, enter N:
Warning: The current configuration will be saved to the next startup saved-configuration file. Continue? [Y/N]: N

?To specify patch.pat as the patch file for next startup, run (all indicates all cards or stack member switches):
startup patch patch.pat all

How to specify the next startup system file for S series switches
You can run the startup system-software and startup saved-configuration commands in the system view on S series switches (except the S1700) to specify the system software and configuration files for the next startup. For example, to specify the system software "newbasicsoft.cc" and configuration file "vrpcfg. zip" as the next startup files, perform the following configurations:
#Configure the system software to be loaded at the next startup.
<HUAWEI> startup system-software newbasicsoft.cc
# Configure the configuration file to be loaded at the next startup.
<HUAWEI> startup saved-configuration vrpcfg.zip
For S series modular switches with dual MPUs, you also need to configure the system software used by the standby MPU at the next startup:
<HUAWEI> startup system-software newbasicsoft.cc slave-board

How to specify the configuration file for next startup on a WLAN device
Run the following commands in the user view on a WLAN device (except Fit APs) to specify the configuration file for next startup: - Run the startup system-software command in the user view to specify the system software for next startup. - Run the startup saved-configuration command in the user view to specify the configuration file for next startup. The following takes newbasicsoft.cc (system software for next startup) and vrpcfg.zip (configuration file) as an example: # Specify the system software to be loaded for the next startup. startup system-software newbasicsoft.cc # Specify the configuration file to be loaded for the next startup. startup saved-configuration vrpcfg.zip

How can I specify the system software for the next startup on an AR
Run the startup system-software command and the startup saved-configuration command in the system view to specify the system software and configuration file for the next startup, respectively. The following uses newbasicsoft.cc (system software for the next startup) and vrpcfg.zip (configuration file) as an example: # Specify the system software to be loaded for the next startup. startup system-software newbasicsoft.cc # Specify the configuration file to be loaded for the next startup. startup saved-configuration vrpcfg.zip If the AR has dual MPUs, specify the system software for the next startup on the slave MPU. startup system-software newbasicsoft.cc slave-board
