Configure NetStream on S series switches

NetStream is a traffic statistics and analysis technology. NetStream supports exporting of original, aggregation, and flexible flow statistics.
The following is an example of configuring exporting of original flow on an S series switch (except the S1700).
1. Configure NetStream sampling on GE1/0/1, set the sampling mode to packet-based regular sampling, and set the interval to 1200.

2. Set the inactive aging time to 100 seconds and enable FIN- and RST-based aging.

3. Set the source IP address of the exported packets carrying original flow statistics to 10.1.2.1, destination IP address to 10.1.2.2, and destination port number to 6000.

4. Set the version of exported packets to version 9.

5. Enable NetStream flow statistics collection on GE1/0/1.

Why does the NMS display incorrect NetStream data or no NetStream data after NetStream is enabled on an S series switch
1. The NMS has not imported the NetStream MIB, which is a Huawei Proprietary MIB. 2. The NetStream packet version configured on the switch is different from that configured on the NMS. Since V100R005C10, NetStream sampling can be configured to use snoop resources. This configuration allows inbound NetStream and port mirroring to be configured on the same interface. CE7800&6800&5800 series switches: NetStream and port mirroring cannot be configured on the same interface. NetStream may conflict with MQC-based traffic mirroring and VLAN mirroring. After NetStream is configured on an interface, you are advised not to configure any MQC-based traffic mirroring or VLAN mirroring that contains this interface.

How to configure NetStream original flow statistics exporting on a CE series switch
NetStream collects packet statistics based on flows. After packet sampling, the NetStream module analyzes the sampled packets and creates flows based on key information in packets. The switch stores flows in the buffer and exports statistics about the aging flows to the specified NetStream server. Exporting original flow statistics means that the switch directly exports the flows generated based on key information in packets to a NetStream server. Then the NetStream server obtains details about each flow. Original flow statistics include IPv4 and IPv6 original flow statistics.
