Can physical interfaces be configured as monitored interfaces of a VRRP group for S series switches

8

S series switches support association between VRRP and interfaces. Certain physical interfaces can be configured as tracked interfaces of a VRRP group. A maximum of eight tracked interfaces can be configured on a switch.

For an S series switch, can the virtual IP address of the VRRP group and the secondary interface IP address be on the same network segment
For S series switches (S1700 excluded), the secondary IP address and the VRRP virtual IP address can be on the same network segment.

Can the physical interface bound to the MFR interface can be configured with sub-interfaces
The physical interface bound to the MFR interface cannot be configured with sub-interfaces. Only the MFR interface or interface with FR encapsulation can be configured with sub-interfaces.

Example of configuring association between VRRP and the interface status to monitor uplink interfaces on an AR router
An example of configuring association between VRRP and the interface status to monitor uplink interfaces on an AR router is as follows: Associate VRRP with the interface status to detect faults of uplink interfaces and switch over between the master and backup gateways.
