What are the differences between a mini USB interface and a common USB interface on the AR series

32

The mini USB interface lies next to the console interface on the device. The mini USB interface supports the similar functions as the console interface and is used for configuring the device that is powered on for the first time. The USB interface is used to connect to a USB flash drive for device deployment and system file loading.
All series ARs except the AR150&160&200 series provide a mini USB interface.

What is the relationship between the mini USB port and console port of an AR
Each main control board provides a console port and a mini USB port. To configure an AR, connect the serial port of the user terminal to the console port of the AR or connect the USB port of the user terminal to the mini USB port of the AR. If a PC does not provide a console port, you can use a mini USB cable to connect a USB port on the PC to an AR's mini USB port and log in to the AR for basic configuration and management. Note: Before logging in to an AR through the mini USB port, you need to install the mini USB port driver on a user terminal. When the mini USB port and console port are connected at the same time, you can log in to the AR only through the mini USB port.

How do I log in to an AR using the mini USB port
1. Use a mini USB cable to connect a PC USB port to the mini USB port of an AR. 2. Prepare the mini USB driver based on the operating system of the PC.MiniUSB. 3. Install the mini USB driver on the PC. 4. Start the terminal emulation software on your PC, create a connection, select the connected interface, and set communication parameters. 5. Click Connect until the system prompts you to enter the password. (For AAA authentication, the system prompts you to enter the user name and password.) Note: When the mini USB port and console port are connected at the same time, you can log in to the AR only through the mini USB port.
