Configure DHCP relay on S series switch

0

For S series switches (except S1700 switches), when the DHCP server and clients are on different network segments, you can configure a DHCP relay agent to help the DHCP server allocate network parameters to DHCP clients.
For S series switches, the DHCP relay agent configuration is the same on all switch models in all versions. For details, see "Example for Configuring the Device as a DHCP Relay (on the Same Network)" and "Example for Configuring the Device as a DHCP Relay (Across a GRE Tunnel)" in Typical Configuration Examples.

DHCP relay configuration notes on S series switch
Note the following points when configuring DHCP relay on S series switches: - Configure a DHCP server group, then configure the DHCP server address in the view of the DHCP server group. - Enter the VLAN virtual interface view, configure an IP address for the VLAN virtual interface, configure the VLAN virtual interface as the DHCP relay agent, and specify the DHCP server group. - VLAN virtual interface 1 does not support the DHCP relay function; therefore, the DHCP relay configuration commands are unavailable in the view of VLAN virtual interface 1, but are available in the view of other VLAN virtual interfaces.

Description of the command used to configure DHCP relay on S series switches
S series switches excluding the S1700 support the DHCP relay function. The command is described as follows: 1. The dhcp select relay command enables the DHCP relay function on an interface. 2. The dhcp relay server-ip ip-address command specifies the IP address of the DHCP server on the DHCP relay agent. 3. The dhcp server group group-name command creates a DHCP server group and displays the DHCP server group view. 4. The dhcp-server ip-address [ ip-address-index ] command configures a DHCP server in the DHCP server group. 5. The dhcp relay server-select group-name command binds a DHCP server group to an interface.
