For S2700, S3700, S5700SI, S5700EI, S5700HI, and S6700EI, press the mode switching button on the front panel of the switch. When the mode switching button turns red, the port indicators on the front panel indicate the stack ID of the switch.

For other models, press the mode switching button on the front panel of the switch. The port indicators on the front panel indicate the stack ID of the switch.

Non-master switch:
Switch with the stack ID ranging from 1 to 8: The sequence number of the port indicator that is steady on indicates the stack ID of the switch. For example, if the first port indicator is steady on, the stack ID is 1. If the second port indicator is steady on, the stack ID is 2.
Switch with the stack ID of 0: The number of port indicators that are steady on indicates the number of member devices supported by the product. For example, if the first nine port indicators are steady on, the product supports nine member switches in a stack, and the stack ID of the local switch is 0.
Master switch: The stack ID indicator is blinking. The method to check the stack ID on the master switch is the same as that used on non-master switches.

How to change CSS IDs on S series modular switches
Before setting up the CSS, you must run the set css id new-id command to configure different CSS IDs for two devices. new-id can be set to 1 or 2. After the CSS is set up, run the set css id new-id chassis chassis-id command to change the CSS ID. Ensure that the two switches use different CSS IDs. After changing the CSS ID, restart the device to make the configuration take effect.
