After a stack of S series fixed switches is set up, a stack member switch restarts. Does the interface number of the switch change

If an S series fixed switch restarts after it has joined a stack, its interface number does not change. The restart does not change any configuration on the switch.

Change stack IDs of S series fixed switches of a stack
To change the stack ID of an S series fixed switch (except the S1700 switch) of a stack, run the stack slot slot-id renumber new-slot-id command. Ensure that the new stack ID is unique in the stack. After changing the stack ID, restart the switch to make the setting take effect.

How many stack's members does support on S series switches
1.The number of S2700EI, S2710SI, or S2750EI used to set up a stack is recommended to be 2 to 5. 2.The S2720EI has only one model, S2720-28TP-EI-AC, in V200R006C10, V200R009C00, and V200R010C00. The S2720-28TP-EI-AC cannot be upgraded to V200R011C00 and later versions. The number of S2720-28TP-EI-ACs used to set up a stack is recommended to be 2 to 5. In V200R011C10 and later versions, the number of S2720EIs used to set up a stack is recommended to be 2 to 9. 3.The number of S3700, S5700EI, S5700SI, S5700LI, S5700S-LI, S5700HI, S5710HI, S5710-C-LI, S5710-X-LI, S5710EI, or S6700EI used to set up a stack is recommended to be 2 to 5. 4.The number of S5720HI, S5730HI, S5720EI, S5720LI, S5720S-LI, S5720SI, S5720S-SI, S5720I-SI, S5730SI, S5730S-EI, S6720HI, S6720EI, S6720S-EI, S6720SI, S6720S-SI, S6720LI, or S6720S-LI used to set up a stack is recommended to be 2 to 9.

Whether the configuration of an S series fixed switch stack changes after the stack splits
After a stack is set up, all stack member switches function as one switch on a network. The configuration of the stack is the configuration of the master switch, which is synchronized to the standby switch by the master switch. If a fault occurs on the master switch and the master switch restarts, the standby switch does not restart and function as the master switch. That is, the configuration of the stack does not change.

Number allocation of Eth-Trunk member interfaces on stacked S series switches
After you configure an Eth-Trunk on stacked S series switches (except the S1700), the member interface number remain unchanged even if you split the stack and stack the switches again.

How many times member switches need to restart if two CE5850 switches set up a stack
Each member switch needs to restart only once to set up a stack. Perform the following operations in sequence: Complete the stack configuration of the active switch, save the configuration, and then restart the switch. Complete the stack configuration of the standby switch, save the configuration, and then power off the switch. Connect the active and standby switches using stack cables, and then power on the standby switch.
