Check the Stack ID of a switch through indicators

21

For the S2700, S3700, S5700SI, S5710-X-LI, S5720SI, S5720S-SI, S5700EI, S5700HI, S6720EI, and S6700EI, after the more switching button on the front panel of a switch is pressed and turns red, the port indicators on the front panel indicate the stack ID of the switch.
For other models, after the mode switching button on the front panel of a switch is pressed, the port indicators on the front panel indicate the stack ID of the switch.
For non-master switches:
Switch with the stack ID ranging from 1 to 8: The sequence number of the port indicator that is steady on indicates the stack ID of the switch. For example, if the first port indicator is steady on, the stack ID is 1. If the second port indicator is steady on, the stack ID is 2.
Switch with stack ID 0: The number of port indicators that are steady on indicates the number of member devices supported by the product. For example, if the first nine port indicators are steady on, the product supports nine member switches in a stack, and the stack ID of the local switch is 0.
For the master switch:
The stack ID indicator is blinking. The method to check the stack ID on the master switch is the same as that used on non-master switches.

Change stack IDs of S series fixed switches of a stack
To change the stack ID of an S series fixed switch (except the S1700 switch) of a stack, run the stack slot slot-id renumber new-slot-id command. Ensure that the new stack ID is unique in the stack. After changing the stack ID, restart the switch to make the setting take effect.
