Default NDP configuration

By default, NDP is globally disabled on an S series modular switch, and globally enabled on a fixed switch. However, no information is displayed after NDP is enabled on a fixed switch.

Configure NDP and NTDP to collect EasyDeploy network topology
Configure topology collection on the S series switch, except S1700 as follows: 1. Configure topology collection on the Commander. [HUAWEI] ndp enable [HUAWEI] ntdp enable [HUAWEI] ntdp timer 5 [HUAWEI] easy-operation [HUAWEI-easyoperation] topology enable [HUAWEI-easyoperation] client auto-join enable [HUAWEI-easyoperation] quit 2. Configure the cluster and cluster management VLAN. [HUAWEI] cluster enable [HUAWEI] cluster [HUAWEI-cluster] mngvlanid 10 By default, the management VLAN of a cluster is VLAN 1. It is recommended that you change the management VLAN using command. The management VLAN must be the same as the VLAN on the Commander's interface connected to client.

Which version provides the command used to enable NDP
S series switches (excluding the S1700) in versions earlier than V200R002 support HGMP, and ndp enable and undo ndp enable commands can be configured. Switches in V100R006C05, V200R002, and V200R003 do not support the HGMP function. That is, the ndp enable and undo ndp enable commands are not supported. Switches in V200R005 and later versions can be configured with the ndp enable and undo ndp enable commands. The commands are used in the EasyDeploy function and are mandatory for enabling the network topology collection function.

Can NDP be configured on the Eth-Trunk
For S series switches excluding the S1700, NDP can be configured on the Eth-Trunk.

Whether S series fixed switches support NDP and NTDP
S series switches of V200R005C00 and later versions support NDP and NTDP.

Why the NDP/NTDP configuration of a switch Eth-Trunk member port cannot be deleted
It has two situations: For a physical port, no configuration is performed before the Eth-Trunk is added. After ntdp enable is configured, ntdp enable is displayed for buildrun. If undo ntdp enable is configured, undo ntdp enable is displayed. See the following information: interface GigabitEthernet0/0/9 #interface GigabitEthernet0/0/9 ntdp enable #interface GigabitEthernet0/0/9 undo ntdp enable #The cause is that there are three states (not configured, enabled, disabled) for the NDP/NTDP in the V100R005 version. Therefore, if the enabled or disabled state is configured, the value of buildrun is written. After the physical port is added to the Eth-Trunk1, the NDP/NTDP configuration cannot be deleted. See the following information: interface GigabitEthernet0/0/9 eth-trunk 1 undo ntdp enable undo ndp enable The cause is that the physical port can be added to the Eth-Trunk1 only after the NDP/NTDP is disabled, and after the addition the NDP/NTDP cannot be enabled.
