How to delete the configuration information from the running configuration file

You can run the reset saved-configuration command in the user view to delete user configuration information from the running configuration file of the switch. After the device restarts, the factory configuration is restored.
Usually, the reset saved-configuration command is used in the following scenarios:
When a configured Switch is applied to a new environment, the original configuration file may fail to adapt to the new environment. In this case, you need to run the reset saved-configuration command to delete the original configuration file and then reconfigure the Switch.

NOTE:
After running the reset saved-configuration command, choose not to save the configuration file when restarting the Switch.
The new configuration takes effect only after the Switch restarts, and the running configuration remains unchanged before the restart.

When an S series switch (except the S1700) is in running state, the configuration file in the flash memory or CF card is protected as a system file and cannot be deleted using the delete command. You can use one of the following methods to delete the configuration file: 1. Restore factory settings of the S1700
Restore factory settings of the S1700 using either of the following methods: 1. Hold down the Reset button. When you hold down the Reset button for more than 5s, the switch restarts and restores the factory settings. (If you forget the changed management IP address or password of a switch, you can hold down the Reset button to restore factory settings of the switch.) 2. Restore the factory settings through the web. a. Choose System Management > Reset Factory. b. Click Reset Factory. c. Click Apply.

How to delete the rate limiting configuration from an interface
1. Log in to the web system, and choose QoS > Interface Rate Limit to access the parameter configuration page for interface-based rate limiting. On the Interface Rate Limit List toolbar, select the check box of the interface from which the rate limiting configuration is to be deleted, and click Delete. Click OK in the displayed dialog box. The rate limiting configuration is deleted from on the interface. 2. Using commands: You can also run the undo command to delete configurations from the interface to which a traffic policy is applied or the interface with rate limiting configured.

How to clear the recycle bin of an S series switch
For S series switches (except S1700 switches), run the following command to clear the recycle bin:
<HUAWEI> reset recycle-bin
Note: The delete XXX command in the user view only moves files to the recycle bin, but does not release the storage space. You can run the dir/all command to view information about all files, including deleted files in the recycle bin marked in brackets ([ ]). These files can be restored using the undelete command. To permanently delete these files from the recycle bin, run the reset recycle-bin command. The files that are deleted using the delete command without the /unreserved parameter are saved in the recycle bin.
