Bootrom upgrade on S series switch
For S series switches except S1700 switches, the BootROM file is used to start boards. The version numbers of the BootROM is in ascending order. The greater the version number, the later the version. A later version is compatible with earlier versions. For example, if the BootROM version that matches the product version is 109, all the BootROM versions later than 109 can be used. Load the BootROM file to the flash memory of a device through the serial port. For S series modular switches, you can perform the following steps to upgrade the BootROM version online: 1. Upload the system software package containing a new BootROM version to the CF card or the flash memory through FTP. 2. Run the upgrade command to load the BootROM online. For details, see the Command Reference. Note: The corresponding board must be registered before online upgrade. For S series fixed switches running V200R001 or a later version, run the upgrade basic-bootrom filename [ slot slot-id ] command in the diagnostic view to upgrade the BootROM version. Note: Before running this command, read the related release notes and ensure that the new BootROM version is compatible with the VRP software version. Do not upgrade the BootROM if the two versions are incompatible, and perform operations as instructed.
