GE optical modules and GE electrical modules can be installed on the same 1000M optical interface board of the S12700, but you must configure the O/E converter on the 1000M optical interface board.

The 1000M optical interface board of the S12700 can use only the Huawei certified converter. When Non-Huawei O/E converters are installed on interfaces of the S12700, the interfaces still work as optical interfaces.

You can use a GE optical module on a 10GE optical port or a 100M optical module on a GE optical port. NOTE: Normally, you are not advised to install a low-speed optical module on a high speed optical port.
