Current supported by cables of an S series modular switch is determined by the power module.
The maximum input current supported by different power modules is as follows:
- 800 W AC power module: 5 A
- 2200 W AC power module: 15.5 A
- 1600 W DC power module: 40 A
- 2200 W DC power module: 60 A
- 2400 W DC power module: 60 A

How to connect CSS cables of S series modular switches
For details about CSS connection models on S series modular switches, see the right page. 1. In CSS card clustering mode, the following CSS card models are supported: ES02VSTSA (S7700), LE0D0VSTSA00 (S9300), and EH1D2VS08000 (S9700 and S12700). (1) For ES02VSTSA (S7700) and LE0D0VSTSA00 (S9300), the numbers in Figure 1 are the numbers of labels on both ends of a cable. All ports must be connected in sequence. (2) The EH1D2VS08000 CSS card has eight SFP plus ports, which are assigned to two groups. Ports 1 to 4 belong to group 1, and ports 5 to 8 belong to group 2. A port in group 1 of a CSS card can be connected to any port in group 1 of the CSS card on the other chassis. The requirements for ports in group 2 are the same. For the S9700, connect cables between groups according to Figure 2. Ports in a group can be connected in any sequence, but each group must have at least one cable connected. Full-mesh connections are recommended. For the S12700, connect cables between groups according to Figure 3. The two chassis must be connected with at least one CSS cable. CSS cards have the same number of cluster cables connected. In addition, interfaces on CSS cards are connected based on the interface number. If the ET1D2SFUD000 card is installed, it is recommended that CSS cards have the even number of cluster cables connected. The S12700 CSS supports only one MPU and one SFU. You are advised to install at least two SFUs and two CSS cards in each chassis (S12704 can be configured with a maximum of two SFUs and two CSS cards). 2. Figure 4 shows the service port connection mode. The S7700, S9700, and S9300 support service port clustering. Service ports are connected in two ways. (1) 1+0 networking: Configure one logical CSS port for each member switch and connect physical member ports on the one service card to set up the CSS. (2) 1+1 networking: Configure two logical CSS ports and connect physical member ports on two cards through the CSS links on the cards for link backup. See Figure 4. When connecting cluster cables, pay attention to the following points: (1) The two devices can be connected by one cluster cable. However, it is unstable. It is recommended that the devices be connected by at least two cluster cables. You are advised to use 1+1 networking. (2) Physical member ports in a logical CSS port on one switch must connect to physical member ports in a logical CSS port on the other switch. (3) In 1+1 networking, two service cards must have the same number of cluster links.

Whether S series switches support NAT
S series switches do not support NAT, but S series modular switches configured with SPUs support NAT. 1. S series fixed switches do not support NAT. 2. S7700 and S9700 series modular switches configured with SPUs support NAT. 3. S9300 series modular switches configured with SPUs support NAT. 4. S12700 series modular switches do not support NAT.
