Requirements for the MPU after S series modular switches establish a CSS
The requirements are as follows: CSS card clustering: (1) For the S7700/S9700/S9300, two switches in the CSS must be configured with active and standby MPUs. That is, one switch is equipped with two MPUs. The S7700 and S9300 support the SRUA and SRUB that can have the VSTSA card installed. The MPUs on one switch must have the same model. The local and remote devices can use different models of MPUs, but the same model of MPUs is recommended. The S9700 supports only the SRUC that has the VS08000 card installed. (2) Each S12700 must be configured with one MPU. You are advised to install at least two MPUs on each S12700 (an S12708 or S12712 can be configured with a maximum of four MPUs and an S12704 can be configured with a maximum of two MPUs). Service port clustering: (1) For the S7700/S9700/S9300, there is no requirement for configuring two MPUs on one switch. The MPUs on one switch must have the same model. In addition, the local and remote devices can use different models of MPUs. If the SRUH is used, the local and remote chassis must use SRUHs. (2) The S12700 does not support service port clustering.

How to copy files from the master MPU to the slave MPU on an S series modular switch
To copy files from the master MPU to the slave MPU on an S series modular switch, run the copy source-filename destination-filename command. Set source-filename to the storage path on the master MPU and destination-filename to the storage path on the slave MPU. copy test.txt slave#flash:/ Copy flash:/test.txt to slave#flash:/test.txt?[Y/N]:y 100% complete. Info: Copied file flash:/test.txt to slave#flash:/test.txt...Done.

Status of MPUs on S series switches
You can run the display device command on an S series switch to check the running status of a card.

How to access the file system of the slave MPU on an S series switch
For S series switches (except S1700 switches), you can run the dir command in the user view to check files of a switch. For an S series modular switch with dual MPUs, you can perform the following operations to check files on the master and slave MPUs: # Check files on the master MPU. dir flash:/ # Check files on the slave MPU. dir slave#flash:/ S series fixed switches and S12700 series switches support the flash memory. S7700&S9700&S9300 series switches support two storage devices, the flash and CF card (default storage device).
