How do I configure AP mode switching
An AP can switch between the Fat mode and Fit mode. APs in V200R003 or later support the Fat mode, and APs in different versions do not support mode switching. To switch a Fit AP in V200R002 to a Fat AP, first upgrade the Fit AP to V200R003. To switch a Fat AP to a Fit AP in V200R002, first switch the Fat AP to a Fit AP in V200R003, and then roll the Fit AP back to V200R002. Before configuring AP mode switching, run the upgrade upgrade-assistant-package command in the diagnostic view to upgrade the upgrade assistant package. The upgrade assistant package is not supported by the AD9430DN-24, AD9430DN-12, AP9130DN, AP8030DN, and AP8130DN. To switch a Fat AP to a Fit AP, perform the following operations: 1. Upload the system software package of a Fit AP to an FTP, SFTP, or TFTP server (taking the system software package AP6010DN_V200R005C00.bin and FTP server IP address 10.23.1.1 as an example). 2. Run the system-view command to enter the system view. (For the AP8030DN and AP8130DN, skip step 3 and go to step 4.) 3. Run the ap-mode-switch check command to check whether the file system allows a Fat AP to be switched to a Fit AP.. Note: If the check fails, do not perform the following steps. Otherwise, the AP's file system may be damaged, causing an AP startup failure. 4. Run the ap-mode-switch ftp AP6010DN_V200R005C00.bin 10.23.1.1 admin admin command to switch the system file of the Fat AP to that of the Fit AP using the FTP server. After the command is executed, the AP restarts and the mode switching is complete. To switch a Fit AP to a Fat AP, perform the following operations: 1. Run the ap-mode-switch ftp AP6010DN_V200R005C00.bin 10.23.1.1 admin admin command to switch the system file of the Fit AP to that of the Fat AP using the FTP server.
