OceanStor 9000 separates the front-end and back-end networks and uses the front-end network for data exchange with customers, and the back-end network for data exchange among internal nodes.
OceanStor 9000 supports the following typical networking modes:
1. 10GE front-end/back-end (recommended)
2. InfiniBand front-end/back-end (mainly for HPC scenarios)
3. 10GE front-end and InfiniBand back-end
4. GE front-end and 10GE back-end (for video surveillance and archiving scenarios)
OceanStor 9000 provides the following four networking modes:
- 10GE front-end and 10GE back-end
- GE front-end and 10GE back-end
- InfiniBand front-end and InfiniBand back-end
- 10GE front-end and InfiniBand back-end
OceanStor 9000 provides flexible networking modes to protect customers?existing network architectures. Customers do not have to build new or adjust existing network architectures after buying Huawei OceanStor 9000. This reduces maintenance costs for customers and improves their competitiveness in the market.
The SCU (U1911/U1960/1980/U1981) supports three network port modes: single-network-port mode, dual-network-port mode, and triple-network-port mode. In different network port modes, each network port processes different data streams. Network port 3 is not enabled currently. For details, see .
