Layer-2 Ethernet interfaces support electrical interfaces and optical interfaces. Electrical interfaces include FE electrical interfaces and GE electrical interfaces. Optical interfaces include GE optical interfaces.
- AR120, AR150, and AR200 series devices support only FE electrical interfaces.
- AR160 series products support only GE electrical interfaces.
- AR500 and AR510 series products do not support Layer-2 Ethernet interfaces.
- AR1200, AR2200, AR3200, and AR3600 series products support FE electrical interfaces, GE electrical interfaces, and GE optical interfaces.

Layer-3 Ethernet interfaces support electrical interfaces and optical interfaces. Electrical interfaces include FE electrical interfaces and GE electrical interfaces. Optical interfaces include GE optical interfaces and 10GE interfaces.
- AR120, AR150, and AR200 series devices support only FE electrical interfaces.
- AR161, AR161W, AR161G-L, AR161G-U, AR169, AR169G-L, AR169W-P-M9, AR169RW-P-M9, and AR169-P-M9 cards support GE electrical interfaces. Other products of the AR160 series support GE electrical interfaces and GE optical interfaces.
- AR500 and AR510 series products support only Layer-3 GE electrical interfaces.
- AR1200, AR2200, AR3200, and AR3600 series products support FE electrical interfaces, GE electrical interfaces, and GE optical interfaces.
- For AR2240 and AR3260, only the SRU200, SRU200E, and SRU400 support 10GE interfaces.

Do AR routers support E1 interfaces
E1 interfaces that AR routers support are described as follows: E1 interfaces are configured on E1/T1 cards and can be seen as serial interfaces (currently supported by AR1200/AR2200/AR3200/AR3600). - 1E1T1-M/2E1T1-M support the E1/CE1/CT1/PRI(E1&T1) interface. - 4E1T1-M/8E1T1-M support the E1/CE1/PRI(E1) interface. - 1E1T1-F/2E1T1-F support the framed/unframed E1/T1 interface. - 4E1T1-F/8E1T1-F support the framed/unframed E1 interface.

Do AR routers support POS interfaces
POS interfaces that AR routers support are described as follows: 1STM1, ISTM4, and 4STM1 interface cards support POS interfaces. Currently, AR2200, AR3200, AR3600, AR2200-S, and AR3200-S series devices support ISTM1, ISTM4, and 4STM1 interface cards. NE16EX series devices support only 1STM1 and 1STM4 interface cards. - A 1STM1 interface card provides a POS optical interface with a rate of 155 Mbit/s. - A 1STM4 interface card provides a POS optical interface with a rate of 622 Mbit/s. - A 4STM1 interface card provides four POS optical interfaces with a rate of 155 Mbit/s or a POS optical interface with a rate of 622 Mbit/s (interface 0 is available and interface 1/2/3 are disabled).

Do AR routers support 1000M interfaces
GE interfaces displayed on the equipment panel are 1000M Ethernet interfaces. The rate of a GE interface is 100 Mbit/s by default when it works in non-auto negotiation mode. If you want to change the rate to 1000 Mbit/s, run the following commands:
#Set the rate of the interface GE2/0/0 in non-auto negotiation mode to 1000 Mbit/s.
system-view
[Huawei] interface gigabitethernet 2/0/0
[Huawei-GigabitEthernet2/0/0] undo negotiation auto
[Huawei-GigabitEthernet2/0/0] speed 1000

Do AR routers support BNC interfaces?
The E1 cards of AR routers use 75-ohm DB9-BNC cables or RJ45-BNC cables to support BNC interfaces. E1 cards and the cables that they support are described in the table in the right column.
