How to enable the H.261 and H.263+ protocols on endpoints

ViewPoint 9000 series and TE series endpoints all support the SIP and H.323 protocols. You can log in to the endpoint web interface to set the SIP or H.323 parameters. ViewPoint 9000 series and TE series endpoints can use the SIP and H.323 protocols to directly call the IP address of a site or call a site's number after registering with the GK. The newly released TE10/TE20 supports only SIP.

The MCU and endpoints support H.263+; however, the protocol is disabled by default.

Run the following command to enable H.263+ for the MCU: system-view conf-policy h263plus-aux 0/1 - h263plus-aux {0:disable 1:enable}

You need to log in to the endpoint through Telnet and run commands to enable the H.261 protocol on the Huawei ViewPoint 8000 series endpoint. Step 1. To enable the H.261 protocol for transmitting video and audio streams or presentations: a. Run the following command to enable the H.261 cif capability for transmitting video and audio streams: mc videoCap add main h261 cif b. Run the following command to enable the H.261 Qcif capability for delivering presentations: mc videoCap add aux h261 Qcif NOTE: To initiate a single-stream conference, enable only the H.261 capability for transmitting video and audio streams. Step 2. To display the H.261 protocol option on or remove it from the remote control UI, run the following command: rc set h261 on//Display the option rc set h261 off//Remove the option

To enable the H.263+ protocol on the Huawei ViewPoint 9000 series endpoint, log in to the endpoint through Telnet and run the following command: mc set RFC2429 x y Parameter description: If parameter X is 0, the command takes effect on video. If parameter X is 1, the command takes effect on presentations. If parameter Y is 0, the protocol is disabled. If parameter Y is 1, the protocol is enabled. NOTE: For V100R011C02 and later versions, the H.263+ protocol is disabled for the video by default, but it is enabled for the presentation by default. For versions earlier than V100R011C02, the H.263+ protocol is disabled for the video and presentation by default.
