What is the description of software package for ViewPoint 8000 series MCUs?

ViewPoint 8000 series MCUs have two polices to process video streams in forwarding mode: 1. Forwarding: IF two participants use the same format, no adaptation resource is required. 2. Adaptation: If the formats of participants are different, the DSP is required to encode and decode video streams. Adaptation resources refer to the DSP resources that are used to encode and decode video streams when the formats of participants are different. Participants with different parameters (including the rate, protocol, and format) require MCU adaptation resources. Adaptation resources are calculated based on the highest format. The resources required are determined by video types and have no relation with the number of participants. For example, if a conference has ten participants with H.263 CIF 2 Mbit/s and two participants with H.264 720p 8 Mbit/s, the adaptation resources of two channels with 720p resolution are required. If a conference has one participant with H.264 720p 2 Mbit/s two participants with H.264 1080p 4 Mbit/s, and one participant with H.264 CIF 2 Mbit/s, the adaptation resources of three channels with 1080p resolution are required.

Both the ViewPoint 9000 series endpoint and the ViewPoint 8000 series endpoint have E1 and 4E1 boards. The same type of boards can be shared between them.

To query the software version of the ViewPoint 8000 series endpoints: On the remote control page, choose Status > Version or press the ? button. If you have not joined a conference, press the ? button for three consecutive times. If you have joined a conference, press the ? button for six consecutive times.
