In the SMC2.0 V500R002 and later versions, you can add a standby participant as follows:
When adding participants, add participant B (functioning as the standby participant) first, add participant A, and select participant B in Standby Participant to associate participant B with participant A as the standby participant.
A standby participant cannot be selected during conference initiation. An active/standby switchover is triggered in any of the following scenarios:
(1) The active participant fails to join the conference within the timeout interval (30 seconds by default), or the number of times that the active participant fails to be called reaches the threshold (5 by default).
(2) The active participant leaves the conference abnormally. For example, the endpoint is restarted, the network is disconnected, or the endpoint is disconnected when no stream is received.
(3) A switchover is triggered manually. (The Active/Standby Participant Switchover button is clicked on the web interface.)
Note that only the mute and broadcasting status is restored after a switchover.
To add participants in a conference, perform the following operations:
1. Log in to the SMC2.0 web interface as the admin user.
2. Choose Conference > Scheduled Conference.
3. On the Scheduled Conference page, click Add Participant and select participants to add them to the conference.
To monitor participants after the SMC2.0 schedules a conference:
1. Monitor participants on the camera adjustment page of SMC2.0 conference control.
2. Log in to the terminal on the web page and watch the surveillance video.
3. Use surveillance terminals or main participant terminals to display a single or multiple participant panes or broadcast participants in turn to the chair participant.
4. A video wall is directly used to display video of each participant.
1. On the main menu page, press any digit key on the remote control.
The Call page is displayed.
2. In the text box, enter the virtual conference room domain name (for example, HUAWEI_TE10.vmr@videxio.com) or remote site URI (for example, TE10GZ).
3. Press the key on the remote control to move the focus to the call icon and press the confirm key.
If no password is set for the conference, you directly join the conference.
If a password is set for the conference, go to the following steps.
4. Press any digit key on the remote control. The Secondary Dial dialog box is displayed.
5. Enter the conference password to join the conference.
