Application scenarios of InfiniBand interfaces on OceanStor V3 storage systems


InfiniBand interfaces are used as front-end host interfaces of OceanStor V3 converged storage systems and can be connected directly or using switches. InfiniBand interfaces are applicable to high-performance computing (HPC) scenarios and high-performance storage scenarios in large-scale data centers.
The tested read and write latency of an InfiniBand interface card is 5 μs. The maximum read bandwidths of the card and a single port are up to 5800 MB/s and 4200 MB/s, respectively. In addition, the input/output operations per second (IOPS) can be as high as 500,000. Tests indicate that InfiniBand interfaces are more suitable for HPC scenarios than Fibre Channel interfaces.
