Input/output operations per second (IOPS), that is, read and write operations (I/Os) per second, are a performance index in evaluating the random access performance of databases. Storage IOPS is different from host I/O. IOPS is the number of allowed accesses from hosts to storage while one host I/O is completed through multiple accesses to storage.
