Symptoms of error codes

Symptoms of error codes:
If a few error codes are generated occasionally because the link is removed and inserted or the device is reset, the system will not be impacted. However, if a large number of error codes are generated continuously, the following symptoms will occur:
The read and write speed of the host becomes slow or read and write failures occur.
An alarm indicating a large number of error codes on the Fibre Channel ports or an alarm indicating single link (Fibre Channel) of the disk is reported.
SAS cascading ports are partially damaged or an alarm indicating SAS cascading port failures is reported.

Method used to check the error code record using ISM
Method used to check the error code record using ISM: ISM records error codes generated after the system is powered on (the iSCSI port records front-end error codes and the Fibre Channel and SAS ports record back-end error codes). It is normal that a few error codes are generated in the system, which does not affect the proper running of the system. You need to focus on a large number of error codes generated within a period of time because it triggers the error code policy of the storage system. R1 version: Choose Settings > System Monitoring > Error Code Statistics. R2 version: Choose Settings > Advanced > Error Code Statistics.
