Deployment mode of OceanStor ReplicationDirector in the local protection disaster recovery solution

OceanStor ReplicationDirector (current major version: V100R003C10) is deployed in the disaster recovery data center solution (geo-redundant mode) in the following manner: 1. You can deploy one piece of OceanStor ReplicationDirector in one data center to centrally manage the local production center, local disaster recovery center, and remote disaster recovery center, or you can deploy one at the local disaster recovery center and one at the remote disaster recovery center to achieve disaster recovery management. 2. When deploying one piece of OceanStor ReplicationDirector, you are advised to deploy it at the disaster recovery center that provides the fastest service recovery services. Ensure that the management server can communicate through the management network with service hosts and storage devices at all three sites.

The local protection disaster recovery solution uses snapshot technology to ensure local availability of host services. This solution can use VIS snapshots of protected objects to roll back data, preventing data loss and virus attacks. The OceanStor ReplicationDirector Server is installed on the DR management host deployed in the production center and the OceanStor ReplicationDirector Agent is installed on production application hosts to ensure DR data consistency. This solution supports the snapshot (array and VIS) technology.

The local protection disaster recovery solution supports the following applications: Mainstream databases: Oracle (RAC), Microsoft SQL Server (MSFC), and IBM DB2 (VCS) Mainstream application: Microsoft Exchange Server Files system: NTFS Others: LUNs

You can deploy one piece of ReplicationDirector in either center to centrally manage the production and disaster recovery centers or deploy one piece of ReplicationDirector at each center to perform disaster recovery management. 2. When deploying only one piece of OceanStor ReplicationDirector, you are advised to deploy it at the disaster recovery center and ensure that the management server can communicate through the management network with service hosts and storage devices at the production center.

Deploy one piece of OceanStor ReplicationDirector to manage disaster recovery services in the active-active data centers. Deploy OceanStor ReplicationDirector at the active-active disaster recovery center and ensure that the service system at the active-active production center can communicate with the storage management network.
