Usage of node ports on the OceanStor 9000 V100R001C01 InfiniBand network

OceanStor 9000 V100R001C01 supports the following typical networking plans: 1. 10GE front-end and 10GE back-end 2. 10GE front-end and GE back-end 3. InfiniBand front-end and InfiniBand back-end 4. 10GE front-end and InfiniBand back-end In the preceding four networking scenarios, the networking tool automatically generates a network plan, hardware connection diagram, and connection table.

In 10GE networking mode, OceanStor 9000 V100R001C01 provides 10GE switches for both the front-end service network and the back-end storage network, or GE switches for the front-end service network and 10GE switches for the back-end storage network. OceanStor 9000 InfiniBand (IB) is a common storage networking mode. In IB networking mode, switches and cables are referred to as IB switches and IB cables. IB features high bandwidth (40 Gbit/s) and high speed and applies to high-performance computing (HPC) for astronomical surveys and gene sequencing. It is recommended that OceanStor 9000 IB cables for QSPF+ ports be 3 m-long common copper cables or 10 m-long IB integrated optical cables. Copper cables are recommended only for intra-cabinet installation. Optical cables must be used for cross-cabinet installation.
