Functions of OceanStor 9000 V100R001C01 front-end dynamic IP address

Static front-end service IP address: A fixed IP address configured for the front-end service network port of a node. This IP address is unavailable after node failover. After a node fails, a client cannot access OceanStor 9000 through a static IP address.

Dynamic front-end service IP address: An IP address dynamically allocated to a node by the InfoEqualizer from the manually configured dynamic IP address pool. After a node fails, its dynamic IP address is automatically assigned to another node, and a client can access OceanStor 9000 through this dynamic IP address.

Procedure for adjusting the dynamic front-end IP addresses of an OceanStor 9000's subnet: 1. Log in to DeviceManager. a. Choose Settings > Cluster Settings > InfoEqualizer > Subnet Management. 3. Configure a dynamic IP address for a subnet. Note: An IP address from the IP address pool must be reassigned to a node that recovers from a fault. In case that the IP address pool has insufficient IP addresses, it is recommended that the number of dynamic IP addresses equal the number of ports connected to the front-end network. a. Select a subnet for which you want to configure a dynamic IP address. In the IP address pool area, click Add. b. Enter the planned IP address in the Add IP Address dialog box that is displayed and click OK. c. The Result dialog box is displayed. Click Close. In the table under IP address pool, you can view the newly added IP address.

Procedure for adjusting the static front-end IP addresses of an OceanStor 9000's subnet: 1. Log in to DeviceManager. 2. Choose Settings > Cluster Settings > InfoEqualizer > Subnet Management. 3. Change a static front-end service IP address. After a node is migrated to a newly created zone, change the static service IP address of the node to subnet IP address of the zone. a. Choose Settings > Cluster Settings > InfoEqualizer > Node Management. b. In the node list, select a node and click Properties. c. In the Node Attributes dialog box that is displayed, modify the static front-end service IP address to the corresponding subnet IP address of the zone.
