CX312 introduction

2

The CX312 includes a 10GE converged switching plane:
? Provides 32 x 10GE downlink ports (each half-width slot: 2 x 10GE) and 24 x 10GE uplink ports.
? Provides 1 x 40GE port that is connected to the midplane for interconnecting or stacking modules.
? Supports stacking.

The two CX312s in a pair of slots can operate independently, in 1+1 redundancy mode, or in load sharing mode by working with the OS and NICs.

CX312 ports
The CX312 provides the following external ports: ? One BMC serial port, which is used for logging in to the BMC CLI. ? One SYS serial port, which is used for local management, maintenance, and GE switching plane commissioning. ? Twenty-four 10GE optical ports or six 40GE optical ports, which are used for exchanging data with external networks. The CX312 provides the following internal ports: ? Thirty-two 10GE ports, which are connected to half-width compute node slots 1 to 16. ? One 40GE port, which is used to interconnect the 10GE switching planes on switch modules in slots 1E and 4E or in slots 2X and 3X. ? Two GE ports, which are connected to the two MM910s respectively for communicating with the internal ports eth0 and eth2 on the MM910s.
