Configuring link aggregation of the CX210

Link aggregation allows you to create link aggregation groups between adjacent MX210 switch modules. Each link aggregation group contains a maximum of eight FC ports. The aggregated port rate can reach 64 Gbit/s (128 Gbit/s, duplex) to achieve optimal bandwidth usage and load balancing. The ISL trunking license is required for link aggregation.

Commands to configure link aggregation on S series switches
S series switches (except the S1700) implement link aggregation by using commands. Different commands have different functions. For example: interface eth-trunk: //Create an Eth-Trunk interface and enter the interface view. mode: //Configure the working mode of the Eth-Trunk. trunkport: //Add member interfaces to the Eth-Trunk. For more commands about link aggregation, see "Ethernet Switching Configuration Commands-Link Aggregation Commands" in S1720&S2700&S5700&S6720 V200R010C00 Command Reference. Link aggregation commands are applicable to all S series switch models. The Sx700 series switch is used here as an example.

Whether the firewall supports link aggregation
The USG2000&5000&6000 support manual link aggregation and static LACP mode link aggregation.

Principle of link aggregation on S series switches
Ethernet link aggregation , also called Eth-Trunk, bundles multiple physical links on S series switches (except the S1700) into a logical link to increase link bandwidth. The bundled links can increase the link reliability through mutual dynamic backup. Link aggregation is also called Ethernet link aggregation, port aggregation, link bundle, port bundle, Eth-Trunk, Eth-Trunk link aggregation, and interface aggregation. For more information about how link aggregation is implemented, see Link Aggregation Configuration in S1720&S2700&S5700&S6720 V200R010C00 Configuration Guide - Ethernet Switching. Link aggregation is implemented similarly on all S series switch models. The Sx700 series switch is used here as an example.
