Currently, the following Ethernet interface types are defined on the AR router: 1. Layer 2 Ethernet interfaces: They are physical interfaces working at the data link layer. These interfaces cannot be configured with IP addresses, but can forward received packets at Layer 2 or be added to VLANs to forward packets at Layer 3 through corresponding VLANIF interfaces. 2. Layer 3 Ethernet Interfaces: They are physical interfaces working at the network layer. These interfaces cannot be added to VLANs, but can be configured with IP addresses and forward received packets at Layer 3.

Which interfaces support DCC calls
The following interfaces support Dial Control Center (DCC) calls: synchronous serial interfaces, primary rate interfaces (PRIs), and dialer interfaces. In V200R001C01, asynchronous serial interfaces , 3G interfaces and BRI interfaces also support DCC calls in addition to the preceding interfaces. In V200R005C00, LTE interfaces also support DCC calls in addition to the preceding interfaces
