Restoring BIOS password
Restore the Server BIOS password as follows: On the iMana or iBMC CLI, run the maintenance -d upgradebios command to restore the BIOS default settings. Use this command with care because all the default BIOS settings are restored after the command is executed. For details, see the iMana User Guide or iBMC User Guide. Before running the maintenance -d upgradebios command, you need to apply for the BIN upgrade package, which may take time. If the BIOS password of a V2 server is lost, use Sandy Bridge (the first digit of the BIOS version is smaller than 3, for example, V060 or V160) and Ivy Bridge (the BIOS version is V3xx) cross-platform BIOS hpm package to restore the password. If the BIOS password of the Sandy Bridge platform is lost, you can upgrade the platform to Ivy Bridge to restore the password. If this method is used, the BMC version must be 5.88 or later (supporting hpm upgrade package). If the BIOS is rolled back so as to obtain the BIOS password. After the BIOS password is obtained, upgrade the BIOS.
