This post enquires about the process of converting a GPON ONT to EPON. Please see more details below.


ISSUE DESCRIPTION


I have noticed that several ONT models are both EPON and GPON (HG8346R, HG8347R, HG8546M, etc.). Is there a way to convert GPON ONTs to EPON?

Dear friend, I suggest you do not do the conversion, because of the hardware, it will bring the risk of job instability.

I have a Huawei EchoLife HG8145V GPON Terminal,
But unfortunately my new ISP only supports EPON.

Can anyone suggest how to convert GPON to EPON?
or should I give up hope & buy a new ONT altogether?Converting a GPON ONT to EPON-3819079-1

I have a Huawei HG8145V5. My service provider to BSNL has a EPON OLT.
How can I upload code to have the HG8145V5 compatible to EPON OLT?
