Converting a GPON ONT to EPON

This post enquires about the process of converting a GPON ONT to EPON. Please see more details below.


ISSUE DESCRIPTION


I have noticed that several ONT models are both EPON and GPON (HG8346R, HG8347R, HG8546M, etc.). Is there a way to convert GPON ONTs to EPON?

We do not recommend conversion, GPON has many advantages！

Hello, Huawei ONT does not support the conversion between GPON and EPON, and there is no such term as mixed mode.

I can convert HG8546 GPON ont into hybrid but i cant HG8346 this model. so i hearty request u.

Could you indicate how you converted the HG8546M model from gpon to epon? I have tried via telnet in su mode but it has those commands hidden, I also enter the shell but access to the cd / mnt / jffs2 commands is blocked.
