Conversion from 10G WAN to 10G LAN

HI,

Happy new chinese year to all,


we have internet signal in 10GWAN form coming from international ISP ,but the client has a router which has only 10GLAN port ,so we want to convert the standard 10GWAN to standard 10GLAN and vise versa.

we need that using single step , I mean 1 NE or equipment .

have anyone met such case ?

please share me your expereince in this issue

Hi,

In this case, you'll need at least one 10G Layer3 interface to receive the traffic and then based on the routing, route it to next hop through 1/10G interfaces as per requirement.
You can select from NE05 to NE40 router, but router selection requires alot more information then just interface requirement.
Please go through NE05, NE40, NE5000 datasheets and see if they match your additional requirements.

you mean to use a router with 2 * 10G interfaces .
one 10GLAN and the other 10GWAN and make route between them , right .

Hi,

You can also use a layer 3 10G switch as it is cheaper but in case of switch, it won't be able to give you many VRFs and it Routing table will also be small.
So, I'd suggest to go with router with 10G interfaces.

thank you for your reply , i have checked this solution before , but It doesnot give standard 10GWAN , I mean you cant use single node , you must use 2 nodes (complete link end to end ).
this was the reply of that company technical support staff

and that does not benefit because it will get the signal back to 10wan

which router are you using, and with standard 10GLAN means a Layer 2 interface ?

The router in the 10GLAN is Juniper , and it is layer 3 port
