I need to connect a network equipment with my computer using a console cable. I got a console cable with my switch which have rj45 at one end and db9 at the other end. So to connect to my computer i’ll need a db9 to usb converter . Can i use a normal ethernet to usb converter instead of this arrangement and directly connect the ethernet cable to console port and convert it to usb and plug it in my computer?

You need to connect the device to the switch, you need to use a USB converter, and then convert it to USB and connect it to the computer.

Hi,

Yes u can use a normal ethernet to usb converter and directly connect the ethernet cable to console port and convert it to usb and plug it in your computer.
