Confused about Some of the Functions of TMB1DAP Board

Hello!

I am confused about some of the functions in tha DAP boar's data sheet as highlighted in the attached image.

Can anyone please elaborate and explain each pof these highlighted functions?

Sewicetransmissionwith varying fiber spans without Using electrical regeneration: 

This indicates that the distance between the signals sent by the DAP board at the local station and the signals received by the DAP board at the peer end is too long. Therefore, an optical repeater can be added in the middle of the line.

Gain Locking:

In gain locking mode, the gain of single-wavelength signals remains constant, and is irrelevant to the input optical power or number of wavelengths...More

Transient State control:

The function of preventing the optical power from transiently fluctuating greatly. When channels are added or dropped, the board can suppress the fluctuation of the optical power in the path to realizing smooth upgrading and expansion.

Gain adjustment:

To adjust the gain of optical signals, ensure that the board supports this function.
