Confused about one functioning of TMK1TDC Tributary Board

Hello Colleagues.

I am confused in one of the functions of the TMK1TDC Tributary board, that it supports FEC for "OTU4 Signals on Client Side".

However, OTU signal is something that line board creates and transmits over a wavelength.

How can a trbutary board receive and process OTU4 signal?

I think it only processes and encapsulated GE, TDM, Optical Transmission traffic.

Yes, the board supports OTU4 service access.

When Huawei OTN equipment forwards signals from third-party OTN equipment, the electrical-layer board of the third-party equipment is interconnected with the optical-layer board of Huawei. Once a fault occurs, it is difficult to locate the fault.

Therefore, in the current solution, the OTUK signals sent from the line boards of third-party vendors need to be transmitted to the client-side interfaces of the tributary boards of Huawei OTN devices. The tributary board encapsulates the OTUK signal into the peer site of the ODUk signal on the Huawei transmission network.

The tributary board of the peer Huawei OTN equipment decapsulates the ODUk signals, restores the ODUk signals to the original OTUK signals, and sends the signals to the OTN equipment of a third-party manufacturer.

Therefore, the TMK1TDC supports OTUK signals to better transmit and forward transport network services of third-party vendors.

For example is 2 operators in 2 different countries have interconnected services , they usually connect signal in client level as it totally standard so they can interconnect in SDH , Packet or OTN .
According to the interconnecting site boards and features needed.

Using OTN in OTU levl grans the ability of FEC as FEC field is added to signal in OTU level
