Context
During voice calls between SIP users, the unified gateway receives and processes only call control signaling streams, and does not receive or process media streams that carry communication contents. If an IP terminal engaged in a call is powered off unexpectedly, the transmission of media streams stops, but the IP terminal does not send call end signaling to the involved unified gateway. As a result, resources of the system control module fail to be released in time. After the SessionTimer function is enabled on the unified gateway and all IP terminals, the unified gateway periodically detects the session status of SIP users to ensure that the above-mentioned system resources are released in time.
