This post highlights the process of configuring the Abandon feature. Please have a look below.
1. Choose Settings > Intelligent Analysis > Intelligent Alarms > Abandon. The Abandon tab page is displayed.
2. Draw a detection area.
a) Use the PTZ control panel to rotate the PTZ device to a target position.
b) Click Draw and draw a detection area on the live video image.
c) Specify the detection area name and click Save.

Parameter | Description |
|---|---|
Draw | Button for drawing a detection area. |
Measure Pixels | Click Measure Pixels. The pixel measurement box is displayed in the preview image. You can drag the measurement box to view the minimum and maximum sizes of objects. The mentioned object sizes are for intelligent analysis of live video at a resolution of 352 x288. For live video at other resolutions, the horizontal resolution of objects can be calculated by the following formula: Horizontal resolution = Required horizontal resolution (for video at 352 x 288 resolution) x (Horizontal resolution of the actual live video)/352. You can use the same method to convert the vertical resolution measured by the pixel measurement box. For example, if the actual live video resolution is 1920 x 1080, and the required minimum size of the object is 5 x 5, the size of the pixel measurement box should be adjusted to 28 x 19 pixels for checking the actual minimum size of the object. The object resolution in the video directly affects the accuracy of license plate recognition. If the object resolution is insufficient, you need to readjust the camera angle and focal length to ensure that the object resolution meets the requirements. |
Alarm check interval | Interval at which the system checks for new alarms. If any alarm is detected, the system reports the alarm to the surveillance platform. |
Alarm tolerance time | Duration for which an object can be left in the detection area. If an object is left in the detection area for a period longer than the specified duration, an alarm is generated. |
Delete | Button for deleting a detection area. To delete a detection area, select it from the detection area list and click |
No. | ID of a detection area. |
Name | Name of a detection area. |
Status | Status of a detection area. To change the status of a detection area, select it from the detection area list and click the Statustoggle button. |
3. Click Save. The abandoned object detection function is configured.
