Before connecting two domains with other, configure the local domain code and external domain information on both platforms and provide the local domain code to the peer domain.
Configuring External Domain Information (Domain B, Municipal P*** Department in City B) in the Local Domain (Domain A, Provincial P*** Department)
- Log in to the OMU portal of the master server in the local domain as the admin user. Click the System Management tab to access the System Management tab page.
- Click the External Domain tab. Clickhttp://localhost:7890/pages/CEH0706J/03/CEH0706J/03/resources/en-us_image_0093028206.png to access the page for adding an external domain.
- Click Edit.
Select the connection protocol to be configured and set Local domain
code, as shown in Figure
1.Figure 1 Setting the local domain code

Otherwise, the domain codes cannot be identified and the connection fails to be set up. For the encoding rules, see Interconnection Code Formats.
- Set
external domain connection parameters.
Set the external domain connection parameters by referring to Figure 2.

Table 1 describes the external domain connection parameters.
Table 1 Parameters for adding an external domain Parameter
Description
Common Configuration
External domain name
Indicates the name of an external domain. You are advised to set this parameter depending on the external platform type or domain usage. For example, set it to Public security surveillance platform.
Connection Protocol
It contains the following protocols:
- T669
- T 28181
- T 28181+
External domain code
Indicates the code of the external domain.
User password
The connection user password for two connected domains must be the same. Otherwise, the domains cannot be connected.
NOTE:When the external domain is connected to the VCN, the system enables the password complexity verification function by default. The password must consist of at least six characters containing at least two types of the following characters: case-sensitive letter, digit, and special character.
Confirm password
Set this parameter to the value of User password.
External Domain IP
Indicates the IP address of the master server in the external domain.
Port
Indicates the port number of the external domain. The default port number for the Huawei surveillance platform is 5061. For other external domain systems, you can set this parameter based on the site requirements.
Is IVS or not
- To connect to a Huawei surveillance platform, select Yes.
- To connect to other systems, select No.
Advanced Configuration
Domain priority
Indicates the pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) control priority assigned to this external domain. When operators from multiple domains attempt to control a PTZ, the operator with the highest priority can operate the PTZ.
The value range is 1-32. Value 1 indicates highest priority and 32 indicates lowest priority.
Max. sessions
Indicates the maximum number of live video viewing channels and video playback channels supported by an external domain.
Single SIP message carrying
Indicates the number of devices that can be contained in a single SIP message when an external domain platform receives SIP messages.
This parameter is available only for the T28181 and T28181+ protocols.
Character set
Indicates the character set used for domain connection. The options are as follows:
- UTF-8
- GB2312
The character set for two connected domains must be the same.
Packaging protocol
Media stream packaging protocol.
If the GB/T 28181 protocol is used to connect to an external domain, only the PS packaging protocol is supported.
Register external domain
Indicates whether to register the local domain with the added external domain. The options are as follows:
- Yes
Indicates that the local domain registers with the external domain. After an external domain is successfully added, users in the external domain can view local domain device status.
- No
Indicates that the local domain does not register with the external domain. After an external domain is successfully added, users in the external domain cannot view local domain device status.
Register periodically
Indicates the continuous connection mode between the external domain and the local domain.
- To allow the external domain to continuously connect to the local domain using registration messages, select Yes.
- To allow the external domain to continuously connect to the local domain using keepalive messages, select No.
Is support audio or not
Indicates whether the connected Huawei surveillance platform supports audio functions. The options are as follows:
- No
- Yes
Recording storage location
Indicates the location where the external domain recording to search locates during Huawei surveillance platform search and external domain recording playback.
- If the PU recording is differentiated from the server recording for the external domain, select Yes and obtain PU-based and server-based recordings.
- If the PU recording is not differentiated from the server recording for the external domain, select No and obtain PU-based recordings.
Sequential query directory
Indicates whether to differentiate the storage location of external domain recordings during search and playback of external domain recordings on Huawei platform.
- If PU recording and platform recording are differentiated in the external domain, set this parameter to Yes. The PU and server recordings of the external domain are obtained during search and playback of external domain recordings.
- If PU recording and platform recording are not differentiated in the external domain, set this parameter to No. The server recordings of the external domain are obtained during search and playback of external domain recordings.
SIP auto switch to TCP
- If automatic switching from SIP to TCP is required, select Yes.
- If automatic switching from SIP to TCP is not required, select No.
Service Type
Indicates the type of the external domain recording to search during Huawei surveillance platform search and external domain recording playback.
- If the external domain supports only PU-based recordings, select Device.
- If the external domain supports only server-based recordings, select Server.
- If the external domain supports both PU-based and server-based recordings, select All.
Alarm Notify Type
Mode for reporting alarms of external domains.
- Event Subscribe and Notify: After an external domain is connected, a user can view the live or recorded video of cameras in the external domain only after subscribing to the alarms of the external domain on the C/S client.
- Alarm Notify: After an external domain is connected, a user can directly view the live or recorded video of cameras in the external domain without subscribing to the alarms of the external domain on the C/S client.
- Click Save.
