Configuring Basic Data for voice mail box

  1. Check the license.

    1. Log in to the web management system of the Unified Gateway U1900 series as the administrator.
    2. Choose System > License Information.
      Allocate resource for VMS.
      1. Access the web management system, and choose System > Board Configuration.
      2. Right-click the MTU and choose Configure from the shortcut menu.
      3. On the MTU Parameter Configuration page, set the value for Number of VMS Channels and set Meeting board

  2. Verify the number of SD cards.


  3. Initialize an SD card.

    The SD cards need to be initialized during the first use. To ensure compatibility, use the SD cards provided by Huawei.

    1. Log in to a U1900 series unified gateway using the CLI and access the Config mode.
    2. Delete the voice messages on the entire board.

      config oldvmsleavedata delete slotno slotno

  4. Check VMS scripts.

    1. Access the web management system, and choose System > Script Management.
    2. Click the Script Management tab and verify that the VMS scripts listed in the following table exist.

      Script Name

      Description

      vmsrecord

      Used to record voice messages.

      Corresponds to script ..\Script\english\Voice Mail Record Script.txt.

      vmsaccesscode

      Used to retrieve voice messages and customize personal greetings.

      Corresponds to script ..\script\english\Voice Mail Service Script\Voice Mail Access Script.txt.

      5. Create the prefix for leaving voice messages and VMS access code.

    Description

    Voice message

    Used to record voice messages.

    VMS access code

    Used to retrieve voice messages and customize personal greetings.

    1. Access the web management system, and choose Trunk > Called Prefix Configuration.
    2. Click Create, and set the prefix for leaving voice messages and VMS access code, as shown in Figure 2 and Figure 3.

  6. Create the voice mailbox.

    1. Access the web management system, and choose User > Global Service. Click Configure next to VMS.
    2. Click Create, and configure data according to Figure 4.

    3. Click OK.

  7. In the upper right corner of the web page, click en-us_image_0008369305.png to save the configuration
