Configuring an Authentication Key on a RADIUS Proxy Server for Sharing with the NAS
Prerequisites
You must be an NMS user with Administrators authority or higher.
An NE has been enabled as both a RADIUS client and a RADIUS proxy server.
Procedure
Select the NE in the NE Explorer and choose .
Click RADIUS Proxy Server Authentication Key Configurations.
Click Query to query the current authentication key configuration of the RADIUS proxy server.
Click New. The New Authentication Key dialog box is displayed.

Configure the authentication key for the RADIUS proxy server and click OK to save the authentication key.
NOTE: If an NE is enabled as a RADIUS proxy server, an authentication key can be configured on the RADIUS proxy server so that the key can be shared by the RADIUS proxy server and NAS, , and it is recommended that the shared key contain 16 characters at least. The shared key configured on the RADIUS proxy server must be the same as the shared key that is configured on the NAS.
When a RADIUS proxy server is configured and a shared authentication key is configured between the NAS and proxy server, the shared key will become empty after the NAS is downgraded. As a result, local authentication cannot be performed and login will fail. When this occurs, the shared key must be deleted from the RADIUS proxy server.
