    Parameter

    Description

    Stream Type

Stream type used by a scheduled recording task. The options are as follows:

    • Primary stream: Primary streams feature high bit rate, definition, and bandwidth usage.
    • Secondary stream: Secondary streams feature low bit rate, definition, and bandwidth usage.

You are advised to select Primary stream to store recordings.

    Scheduled Recording

Indicates the duration for storing scheduled video. Within the complete storage period, recordings can be completely stored. When the complete storage period expires and the remaining storage space is less than the threshold value, earliest recordings will be deleted.

    NOTE:
    • If this parameter is set to 0 and the storage space is sufficient, recordings will be stored permanently.
    • If you enable manual server or alarm-triggered recording for a device with the video buffering function, the video buffered due to network outage will be stored and deleted in scheduled recording mode.

If the remaining storage space is less than or equal to the threshold value:

    • When the recording policy is Stop if insufficient:
      • If the complete storage period expires, the system will gradually delete the recording files whose storage period has expired.
      • If the complete storage period does not expire, the system will stop recording immediately after the storage space is used up.
    • When the recording policy is Overwrite if insufficient:
      • If the complete storage period expires, the system will gradually delete the recording files whose storage period has expired until the remaining recording space is greater than the threshold value.
        NOTE:

If the remaining recording space is still less than the threshold value after the system deletes recordings that exceed the complete storage period, the system will first delete recordings that have not been configured with a storage period and then earliest recordings within the complete storage period.

      • If the complete storage period does not expire, the system will first delete recording files that have not been configured with a storage period and then the earliest recording files within the complete storage period until the remaining recording space is greater than the threshold value.

If the remaining storage space is greater than the threshold value:

    • When the recycling policy is Recycle by storage space, the system continues recording as planned.
    • When the recycling policy is Recycle by expiration time:
      • If the complete storage period expires, the system will gradually delete the recording files whose storage period has expired until all such recording files are deleted.
      • If the complete storage period does not expire, the system continues recording as planned.

    Video Storage Period (days)

Period for storing alarm-triggered or manual recordings. If a storage period expires, the system deletes the corresponding recordings.

    Others

If the camera supports pre-recording and has a memory module, you can set the parameters in this area. Then, the system will retrieve the video feed that is recorded several seconds before an alarm is triggered to provide complete alarm video for later analysis.

Click Next. The page for setting recording plan parameters is displayed.

  4. Set recording plan parameters, as shown in Figure 4.

    1. Select Enable plan. Select a recording mode. If the disk capacity is sufficient, All-day is recommended.
    2. Drag the timeline to select the time segment for implementing video recording.

  5. Click Next.

The settings are complete, as shown in Figure 5. The en-us_image_0093014341.png icon in the Status column indicates that the video recording plan is configured successfully.
