Fix
The fixed bandwidth has the highest priority, and the fixed bandwidth cannot be preempted.
For example, if the management bandwidth of the ONT is set to fix 10M, the OLT allocates 10 Mbit/s bandwidth to the ONT even if no management packet is exchanged between the ONT and the OLT.
Assure
Ensure that the bandwidth priority is the second. If the bandwidth is configured for the ONT but the ONT is not applied for, the bandwidth can be allocated to other ONTs. If the bandwidth of the PON port is occupied by the maximum bandwidth, the ONT applies for the assured bandwidth.
For example, if the ONT service bandwidth is configured with assure 10M and the ONT does not apply for service traffic, the OLT does not allocate service bandwidth to the ONT. When the ONT traffic exceeds 10 Mbit/s, the ONT can obtain at least 10 Mbit/s service bandwidth.
Max
The maximum bandwidth has the lowest priority and fair allocation. After the allocation is complete, the ONT applies for the maximum bandwidth. The bandwidth can be released only after the current release.
For example, the ONT is configured with the service bandwidth of max 100M. When the PON port has the remaining bandwidth, the maximum bandwidth is 100 Mbit/s. When there is no remaining bandwidth, the ONT cannot obtain the bandwidth.
