When R_LOS, R_LOF, R_OOF, MUT_LOS and other alarms appear on the device, it indicates that the service has been interrupted.
If the services interruption is regular in time, the operating environment conditions at the time of the failure should be analyzed first. For example, the services interruption may be caused by external interference or abnormal temperature.
The service interruption caused by equipment hardware failure is mainly caused by the performance degradation or failure of each board. The single boards with degraded performance or failure mainly include: wavelength conversion single board, optical amplifier single board, multiplexed wave single board.
When the fault is located on a specific board, the faulty board needs to be replaced with a standby board. Therefore, it is necessary to back up important boards that affect services. The backup board principles are as follows:
OTU single board backup: For networking without OADM equipment, the OTU single board can use the single board of the unused service channel as the backup. When the OTU board of a certain channel on the network fails, after replacing the standby board, you only need to patch the receiving and transmitting end pigtails to the standby channel at the same time.
For a network using OADM equipment, since the upper and lower services are fixed wavelength services, all OTU boards of the upper and lower service wavelengths need to be backed up.
Spare boards for optical amplifier boards: more than one set of optical amplifier boards of different types and gains in the entire network need to be backed up.
