Today, I'd like to share a case with you.
Problem Description
1. OSN 9800 U16 Cannot be uploaded to NMS, existing NMS version are V1R7
2. Cannot commission NE ID via Navigator/Weblct (V2R14), only can use U2000 V2R14
3. Receive wavelength cannot be adjusted on U2000 for the first time, need to use weblct to change for the first time
4. OSN 9800 U16 cannot use other NE as GNE, therefore to access OSN 9800 on local site or far-end site when commissioning for the first time, need to connect on OSN 9800 U16 locally and set it as GNE. this enables other OSN 9800 U16 to be monitored if the local OSN 9800 are set as the GNE.
5. NE Explorer menu is not completed, only have "Configuration > NE License Authorization". As for the board, no menu is available
Problem Analysis
The handling process is according to problem details :
1. query version of OSN 9800 U16 after commissioning NE ID
2. communicate with GTAC/RnD for problems that happened during commissioning/service creation
Root Cause
Confirmation from RnD that OSN 9800 U16 arrived from HQ is not the GA version. need to upgrade software first before doing service commissioning/configuration.
Solution Description
1. Commissioning NE ID
2. Upgrade OSN 9800 U16 software according to RnD recommendation, which are divided into 3 parts :
- Upgrade software version
- Check the CPLD
- Upgrade Optical Module
