Handling Process
Use the bootrom system to implement the upgrade.
NOTE:
Before the upgrade, power off the codec. Set switch 1 to ON and retain the current settings for switch 2. Power on the codec. The default codec IP address is 192.168.1.1. Then upgrade the normal system.
Step 1 Run the Ping command to check the network communication between the computer used for the upgrade and the codec, as shown in the Figure 5-5.
If the computer fails to communicate with the codec, ensure that the IP addresses of the computer and codec are in the same network segment.

Step 2 Telnet to the codec using the user name and password debug. Then run main enableupg 1.
Step 3 Perform the upgrade.
1. Open the upgrade tool, as shown in Figure 5-6.

2. Set the upgrade parameters:
Upgrade File: Select the codec's system file TP3206_VCT.dat.
Product Type: Select VCT.
Select Reboot.
Remote Terminal IP Address: Enter the codec IP address 192.168.1.1.
Step 4 Click Upgrade. When prompted, enter the upgrade password api.

If the upgrade succeeds, the dialog box shown in Figure 5-8 is displayed.

Step 5 Set DIP switch 1 on the codec to off.
The codec restarts to load the normal system.
Root Cause
An error occurs during the upgrade.
